Backup Your Essential Business Contacts

If you are in business for yourself you will already understand the importance of networking and contacts. Our mobile phones have become our personal assistants, keeping lists of our contacts, to do lists and agendas. But do we back up this valuable business data in case of loss or damage?

Mobile phone providers have estimated that fewer than 15% of users actually back up their telephone data. Its worth taking a few moments to consider what would happen if you lost all of the contact details you have on your mobile phone. Think about whether you have these details stored elsewhere?

These days I don’t take any risks and backup my telephone data every day. This is a new routine for me that only began after I’d lost my last mobile phone while hiking. The impact of this loss was enormous. I’d built up a whole load of valuable business contact details on my cell phone. The cost to my business of my losing these was immense. These days I backup my phone data every day. And I have my phone covered with mobile phone insurance to pay for a replacement the next time I lose it, which is bound to happen sooner or later.

If you are now worried about how to back up your phone data it should simply be a matter of taking a look at the applications that came with your phone. Most phones are supplied with some computer applications that will allow you to sync your phone with your computer. If you ever lose or replace your phone it should be a simple matter of copying the data back from your computer to your replacement handset.
