BB Storm 2 Review & Features
The long expected Blackberry Storm2 has been confirmed at your nearest Blackberry dealer allowing awaiting mobile customers to wait no longer. While a feature-by-feature comparison of Storm2 and its predecessor may appear strikingly unchanged, the much improved functionality of the newer model quickly reveals the significance of all changes made. Significant upgrade on the overall speed has been increased; response time and the loading of websites have also had a dramatic overhaul. The Storm2 incorporates RIM’s SurePress Technology which has it’s fans and foes. Whether you’re a fan or not the Storm2 has made large strides in properly integrating the technology properly that will make you a believer in no time. Need more memory no problem, he Storm2’s built in flash memory has been upgraded from the original Storm. The included memory sizes include 256 Megabytes and 2 Gigabytes sizes. The new Wi-Fi capabilities of the Storm2 alone may be reason enough for many to make the upgrade immediately.
While slightly heavier than the original model, the Blackberry Storm2 has taken the opportunity to make improvements to the build of the device itself, resulting in a much more solid product. The screen has been replaced to one that wiggles less on the new device and the inclusion of the core keys on the display eliminates problems associated with dust getting behind the screen. Slightly moving the speaker port to the bottom of the device has eliminated the need for speaker feet on the original Storm, allowing sound to be heard clearly when the Blackberry Storm2 is lying flat on a surface. There are other phones similar to the Storm2 including the Palm Pixi and another similar phone in the Palm PRE.
For anyone who’s an owner of the original Storm, there is no need to run out and upgrade right away. The Storm2 carries wonderful features that would make any potential mobile user drool. If the Storm is working just fine and you don’t need an upgrade right away, the original Storm is far from being a device out of date. If you’re still debating whether to keep your original Storm or not, lets just say the RIM is not forgetting about all the loyal Storm users and word has it on the streets they will soon upgrade Storm’s software with a lot of the similar functions of the new Storm2. The deciding factor between both units is the update on the units build and design. As with all mobile toys and upgrades, once mobile users are done with their contracts, I bet there will be a sure spike in Storm2 upgrades. With added features and better build quality if you can stay with the original Storm great, but we all know you all can’t wait for the Storm2.
